A doozy one from the king of rumours !
From the bad ol' HB :
"Edmonton is still trying to make an impact trade and one of the rumors swirling may be to bring Spezza to the Oilers instead of Heatley. Would you do that same deal (Cogliano, Penner, Smid) if you had the opportunity?"

Ek can stick his head back up his Donkey if he thinks this is going to happen, Spezza is not going anywhere at this point, it's Heatley or nothing.

What an idiot, why would SPezza waive after saying time and time again this is home.
People need to realize that Ek makes $$ everytime you hit his site, hence the reason for these outlandish rumours. It's the easiest way to get people to it it and reply.

What a f'n tool.
I've long said he should at least make his lies plausible. This is just braindead.
I'm pretty sure I want to kick the Dung out of this idiot.

That was ridiculous. But his recent ramblings regarding San Jose, are accurate from what I've been hearing. I think San Jose is looking to acquire not only Heatley, but Auld as well. Perhaps even Elliott- which may be a sticking point in the deal. Marleau would absolutely be coming back, but there's more than that. Don't be surprised to hear Cheechoo, Erhoff, and PERHAPS even Setoguchi being talked about.

I don't see the words "swirlings" or "dominos" in there anywhere. I have to give you a fail.

Can you imagine Marleau and another piece? That's where I would do the deal for sure.

With the addition of Kovalev, I'm leaning towards taking less and making this all go away.

I don't want to squash your hopes but...
These SJ rumours don't make a lot of sense. Unless one or both makes other moves beforehand, OTT and SJ are the last two teams that will be trading with each other. OTT is $1.5 mil or so over the cap, and SJ is $1.3 mil from the cap and still needs to add 4 F and 1 G.
That's two over-full plates. Neither has room for the other's salary, and dollar-for-dollar trades solve nothing. Just doesn't work.

No SSF! You need to keep Heatley or get comparable value back. Now it's really important!

I suppose keeping him will increase his value by the deadline. He could have a career year with Spezza and Kovalev on the same line.
Plus we could be a playoff team by February and STILL afford to be sellers. Tasty.

never agree to less, adding Kovalev means Murray can hold out for awhile longer, as long as the cap overage issue is resolved prior to October.

For sure! Not to mention the amazing year Heatley HAS to have to make the Olympic team and to start mending his reputation. Why let some other chump team reap the benefits of that? I say he stays unless Marleau + is on the table.

Spez, man, are you just tuning me out? An OTT/SJ trade makes no sense. Both teams are pressed up against the cap. Any trade between the two either aggravates the cap situation of the other, or does nothing for either.

Oh yeah Rooney. That's quite true. Damn, unless SJ can manoever some $$ around, but yeah, there's almost no chance.
Diddle.

I'll start to get intrigued over this SJ rumour if the Sharks suddenly move out a tonne of salary
