No Kovalev for a couple games. Gone back to Russia as his mother in law has passed.

How in the world is Gonchar already back? I was convinced we wouldn't see him for at least another month. Crazy! Was it just a slight break? I don't really understand how he can be back so quick from a broken bone, especially his wrist.

It looks like A Train keeps taking steps back in his recovery and he didn't break anything.
Weird.

It seems likely that he won't be in for Saturday's game either, considering he's in Russia and the mother probably just passed away today. Funerals usually take a few days to happen.

The Senators learned this afternoon that they will be without Kovalev at least for tonight's game, according to a TSN report. TSN’s Bob MacKenzie says Kovalev has returned to Russia to be with family after the death of his wife’s mother.

I would hurt less if the lines were set up better.

I would drop The Alfie into Kovalev's spot and elevate Choochoo to the top line.

Either way, Regin should have been in instead of Shannon. The RFF line is money! At least it was in preseason.

Bon! And then that happened!

Problem solved? Kinda?

We're still in trouble.

All I ask is that Neil put Gonchar into next week. He can't be fully recovered, I don't believe it for a second.

We seem to be very Dung at exploiting those kinds of weaknesses. Why? Perimeter play. Solution? Michalek.

We'll see if he can be the difference tonight. I hope so. I have faith in him and Alfie and Spezz and Fish...and...our 4th line.

We could be okay actually. I'm still sticking to thinking we'll get at least a point out of this game.

You're right. Pretty sad when you think of it.

This just in: Fisher for Team Canada - Team 1200

Could challenge a player like Brendan Morrow for a spot!

That was tough to watch. But I doubt he'll back down. Orr scored in the sweet spot and took his knees out briefly.
