a staggering 51 million hit points, it was unreal, that battle could take hours, even with the Zodiac Spear.

Yeah eh? If i'm not mistaken they usually release when they start in October-ish ... They had postings this week about the cover, we'll be looking at Ovy ....

they do this always around time for Christmas, very smart of EA Sports, the last two games my wife bought for me out of the series were christmas presents.

As far as I know, there has been no news about who the cover athlete will be. And I try to keep myself informed on these things. The game usually comes out early to mid September, at least for the next gen systems. I believe the PS2 release date is in november or december.

I would have preferred if EA Sports had gone with NHL 2010 as a name (as in twenty ten)... I find it has a better ring to it, as opposed to NHL 10.

From what they have released so far, fighting will be far improved, and will no longer be two punch knockouts. Fights will be first person, and you'll be able to jersey the guy, and stars won't fight as much anymore. Also, if you have won a fight momentum will be shifted your way. THey say this includes the fans waiving flags and chanting. They are trying to make momentum a bigger deal in this next game.

Similarly, they want there to be scrums after the play, but these could result in penalties.

There will also be more intense board battles and going into the corners can result in scrums.

I have also read that they are revamping the passing. It is going to be less forgiving, but this means that you'll have a lot more control. Depending on how hard you press the pass button, it will decide on the power of the pass, from light to laser. Also, it will take more than just aiming in the general vicinity of the player. YOu will have to aim at the player if he is stationary, or aim ahead of him on outlet passes. Seems like a good concept. I've been wanting this for a while.

EA Sports has said that the game will put more of a focus on the playoffs, but I'm not sure how they intend on doing this.

And lastly, EA Sports Vancouver is calling this "The Orange Box" of sports games. There is speculation of what this could mean. Some people think it could include older versions of NHL, or possibly an arcady 3 on 3 version, like the one that came out in february.

I don't think it's illegal to own a modded xbox. I didn't do the mod myself, and I didn't compile the XBMC code either...

Favourite game (too much, I'll make a list of must-have)
- Shenmue 1&2 (Xbox or Dreamcast) = Best game of the dreamcast by a mile, the story is top notch. BUT, the story is not finished . They ran out of budget and couldn't make Shenmue 3. Imagine watching the 1st two lord of the rings and prtedn the 3rd doesn't exist...
- Metal Gear solid Series = More than video games, those games ares the best entertainment products I've ever seen. Unbelievable story and characters, you'll laugh, cry and dream.

- Final Fantasys. I recommend 6,7,8, Tactics and 10.
- Skies of Arcadia = unknown, one of the best jrpgs ever made.
- The first Halo
- Yakuza 1 & 2
- Ico and Shadow of the Colossus, my 2 favourite games on PS2 (not called Metal Gear), by the same author. It's magical, easy to play and takes you on a dream.

One of the best sports games i've ever played was MVP 05 for PS2. I don't even like baseball, but that game was superb. But that was the last MLB game that EA Sports has made, and the last one until i believe 2014 or something absurd.

I'm planning on buying the new game Infamous one of these days. That got really good reviews and looks like fun, I'll let you know how it is. But after a string of RPG/Action/Adventure games that I disliked, not sure if this will be any different. I thought Assassin's Creed was going to be good, but it got extremely repetitive. But I did thoroughly enjoy Marvel Ultimate Alliance.

Try the other metal gears, it's gonna feel old, but the stories (esp mgs3) is the best ever made. It has that cold war/james bond drama vibe. MGS3 is still my fav game of all time.

Unfortunately my PS3 isn't the backwards compatible one. If they come out on the PSN I'll probably buy them.

And the PS3 is developing their own system like Microsoft's Natal.
