As long as MicroSuck makes you pay for it, I won't be getting it. How can they get away with charging for what two better systems (Wii, PS3) give you for free???

Because they introduced it first and it was very good, then they built a community and everybody was playing.
So when the PSN was introduced, even if it was free, everybody was already playing on xbox live.
So, for 40-ish $ a year, I don`t think people are gonna sell their X360 and buy a ps3.

I have an xbox 360 and a PS3 but I haven't bought the M$ online thingy. If I play anything online, I play it on the PS3

Yeah, i've got live and love it... best online out there... PS3 is close but not as good, and because it's free a lot of people seem to think its better.. Wii is good for kids but other than the Mario games in my opinion there just isnt any substance to their games, ive had a wii for 2 years now, i dont think ive touched it in over a year... But to each their own i guess..
My name on live is Inglewood Jacks

I`m 5-6 hours into Heavy Rain now. Holy mother of god it is awesome. It`s like playing s7ven or silence of the lambs
Some of the choices have to be made quickly, like in real life and you can`t go back once you make it. ANd no game over.

PIcked up my copy yesterday. My only concern is that it seems to be over rather quickly (as you said Marakh : 5-6 hours). That amounts to almost 10$ per play hour;

Yeah, that's a game I'd like to play. I do quite recommend FF13, there's no real 'tutorial' time like I was worried about.

NO, it's more like 10-12 hours. 5-6 hours in was where I was when I posted the message.
And you can replay it many times, as there is 5-6 different endings, depending on your actions during the game (some may die).
But seriously, if you don't want to spend too much, just rent it, it's really worth it, there's nothing like it on the market.

Supposedly there are 20+ endings. I imagine a lot are variations based on what you did/didn't do
I got a pretty good ending ... my wife was pissed the game was over as now we have nothing else to play like it.
There's supposedly some extra-DLC chapters they'll be selling, if they aren't already.

You know, I hate them, but I admire them. Nintendo, that is. We got DS Lites for the kids a little while ago. Hinge went wonky on one (it flops around now) and the top screen is completely off (again, the hinge is where the fault lies) on the other. So the boys saved their allowances and just got a DSi each a week or so ago. Next week they are releasing the DSi-XL, which boasts a larger screen (the unit itself is quiet a bit larger, too) and a bigger stylus. I don't think we'll be getting that one, but the 3D one? Give them another year and they'll once again have enough money in their accounts. And then there's the games. The Pokemon games are like a license to print money. So little changes from one to the next, they are able to put out a new game (or two) almost every year. And just like the Pokemon themselves, Ya gotta get 'em them all.
I really should have bought some Nintendo stock when we go the GameCube and I learned first-hand about their strategy.

Re: What video game are you playing?
FF13, I will buy when it gets cheaper. That's the way I operate. I'm buying Arkham Asylum now that it's cheaper, then Yakuza 3, by that time GOd of war 3 should be available around 40$, then finally FF13 which should last til summer.

There have been a few games that were $39 brand new on launch day at wal-mart. Arkham was the first day it came out, and Borderlands.
Re: What video game are you playing?
Wow, I'm really hooked on FF13 now, I just beat the summon guy Odin - which took me so many tries. I'm gonna try to sit in my PJs all day playing. I think I can accomplish that...if I try.

Anyone knows if there's any badass boss fights later on? (like the Omega weapon in FF8 who had like 999,999 HP or Emerald/Ruby in FF7)?
Those are my favourite parts.

Odin was tough IMO, he took a solid 30 deaths before I got it. And I'm only 8 hours in or whatever it is. I've been powering up in the same forest for the last 2 hours, I hope it'll end up being worth it.

OK.
But what I want is an optional boss that you can beat once in a lifetime
I basically prepared my team for 10+ hours just to fight the Emerald boss in FF7
I remember the lucky 7777 (where you could hit 7777 HP, 77 times at the beginning of the combat, but your HP had to be 7777 lool.

Diddle, I remember that. No limit breaks this time. It's a fantastic battle system though. I was gonna try to explain it, but I realized it's harder to explain than to actually learn and do.
Basically, within the fight, you can adapt your party to all commandos from say, medics, or half medics, half commandos. It's a neat system that'll have you changing on the fly a lot.

The potion option is huge because it doesn't take any time to use them, it's pretty much instantaneous. Make sure you have a lot on you at all times.

Man, I don't tink i've ever been more addicted to a game than I am to Super Mario Bros on the Wii. BEST WII GAME EVER!!!!! I must have played 40 hours of it in the last week or so. Just ridiculously fun. If you don't own it and have a Wii, I'd suggest buying it right away. It'll be the best $50 you will spend on a game.
Warning: It is the crack cocaine of Wii games. Beware! If you are married and your spouse hates video games, don't buy it, it could mean trouble. Luckily my hubby is into games as much as I am.

It's Mario, in 3D, you travel around planets, and the wiimote has never been exploited this well.
In fact, most people think it's the best mario game ever made.
