Re: The Needle and the Damage Done: Misconceptions about GMHockey
She can pull herself up to standing, she hasn't cruised much but she loves climbing stairs big time.
The thing is when I hold her hands to practice walking she doesn't like it. Not because she doesn't want to practice she just hates people holding her hands. I think that might slow her progression to walking a little bit.

Anything that slows down the progress that eventually leads to her walking out the door with some guy with tattoos and body piercings -- strike that, make that *any* guy -- is a good thing.

independant already eh? I know this might not be the best scenario, but I remember my little guy liked learning while walking along the couch or coffee table (I cringe when I think about it, a lot of close calls), but that is the only way he would do it, he too wanted to do it on his own.

Man, I'm sure that Baby Einstein stuff is a rip off. Someone bought us a crap load of them and I'm not convinced they do anything. Children under the age of 2 shouldn't be watching TV anyways. Our daughter never watched, she didn't even show an interest in it until she was at least two and a half. Even now she rarely watches it.

I could have sworn it was there, but when I went to look for it it wasn't. Make sure, though, that you get a better quality one -- the one above was a quick search and not the best.

Family Guy.
I miss watching family guy, I have no control of the TV at home (tomorrow night excluded), it's either cartoons or girly stuff (Cosmo TV, Women's TV). I did get to catch a rather amusing Saturday of nothing but Transformer's cartoons on Teletoon retro for 24 hours, it was a couple Saturday's ago.

Re: The Needle and the Damage Done: Misconceptions about GMHockey
It's the evil monkey that lives in Chris' room. I miss Family Guy as well. It's been way too inconsistent since it returned, and lately my wife has asked me not to record it (since the Rogers PVR s/w has no way of segregating parents' recordings from the kids'). I still catch up once in a while with Rogers On Demand. Actually that's a pretty sweet deal in some cases, for the free ones, anyway. For example, the Unusuals lets you fast-forward (can't do that with some shows, notably the ones from NBC), but the ad breaks only usually have a single commercial anyway. Too bad they only keep the last 3-4 episodes, so you can't really use that to "save" a show for the Summertime. They also have very little HD shows on On-Demand (the only one I've seen was Breaking Bad).
