Blake re-signs with Sharks

Honestly, I'm surprised it's a 2-year deal. He may not be as old as Chelly, but still. $9M more? Wow.

Hahaha Heatley is not going to San Jose.

Who we gonna take back? Marleau? Thornton? Heatley would be totally useless without a center.

omg, I would stay so far away from Marleau if he was the center piece it isnt funny. 1 year left, then he bolts, no thanks. That just screams bust of a trade.

If he was a throw in for cap reasons I am okay with it. He would have to be a small peice, not the focal point of any trade with the Sharks...

As for TSN...they're one of the worst sources IMHO.

Meh... I don't think they're that bad considering all the other rumour mills out there, and they're not really in the business for rumours at any rate. But, they are usually one of the first to report breaking news I do find.

But ESPN is much more substantial than TSN as a mainstream media source. Hradek, Burnside and Lebrun trump Dreger and McKenzie IMO.

McKenzie's a puzzling case. He used to be one of the more adventurous hockey journalists; but in the last few years he seems to be acting out the image that's been created for him at TSN as a 'hockey guru'.

Still, when McKenzie does his call-ins with The Healthy Scratches on Team 1200 he seems more relaxed, authoriative without being pushy, as opposed to when he's 'on the set' at TSN.

It seems that TSN has unfortunately decided that glossy packaging makes up for a lack of incisive reporting.

I agree. American is always better.

Funny because TSNs glossiness seemed to come about somewhere around the time they became more ESPNified.

Did Lebrun get his start at ESPN? I've always thought of him as a Sportsnet guy, not an ESPN guy.

This is now official. Blake has signed a 1 year $3.5 million dollar deal with the Sharks.
