Ubuntu (well, Linux) *is* an OS.
I believe he meant that it will arrive in his hands with no OS on it.

    Wink

    Indeed.

I'm guessing this New laptop is almost old enough to replace again.

My one? Nah. Still running well. May need a bigger HDD though... ugh.

I've been looking at the tablet market (since the whole TouchPAD thing) and I really want one but I'm really annoyed at the (ridicously) high price point. Sad

Didn't the HP one just sell off for $99?
    http://money.cnn.com/2011/08/23/technology/tablet_prices/index.htm

Of course at that price they likely did not last long enough to read that article. But the point is you look for bargains, just not from the market leader (iPad). For example, I could have bought a Pharos smartphone for $100, where the MSRP was $400 or $500. Dell.ca had them discounted a short while back. It was an unlocked GSM -- I just paid $80 for my LG Rumor on President's Choice pre-paid. That's only $35 difference (the $80 included $15 airtime).

I decide when there's "more to come."
