It's the most difficult trophy to win in professional sports.

No other prize demands that their aspirants criss-cross a continent from October to June, playing 82 grueling contests and as many as 28 more for a chance to capture the silver chalice.

Ray Bourque, who'd waited his whole career for his chance, made '16' his theme for his 2001 quest with Colorado. Bourque had baseball caps made for the whole theme with the number '16'--for the sixteen victories needed to make it to the top, embroidered on the front--and grew one of the most fearsome playoff bears ever to boot. Hard to forget Ray's emotions as he hoisted the Stanley Cup in what would be his final game.

Whether its Messier or The Rocket, the Great One or the Unsung Heroes, they all provide us with hockey memories we love to think about over and over again.

So as we get down to the Final Four, time to remember great Quests for the Stanley Cup from years gone by--as well thinking about who this year's challengers might be.

What are your favourite Stanley Cup memories? And what are your thoughts about what the memorable moments might be this year?
