Ottawa Senators, Waiver Eligibility List, 2009-2010

Post by rooneypoo on Sun Jul 26, 2009 7:41 pm

Found this while surfing around for news, any news, today:

    http://hfboards.com/showpost.php?p=11040207&postcount=14

The list towards the bottom is the thing of interest. It breaks down the waiver-eligibility status of all Senators prospects. It should save time and clarify any questions about these sorts of issues if and when they arise during the season.

Note, too, the list of players who we can't call up, other than on an emergency recall basis, without risking losing them on waivers (St. Pierre, Brodeur, Carkner, and Hennessy) as well as the two players we have on AHL-only deals (Hamel and Yablonski).

EDIT: Oh wow. CapGeek is now test-running a "waiver calculator," which allows you to determine a player's waiver-eligibility status. It's not perfect yet, but, wow, a very handy tool!

Ruutu and Foligno are the only two natural left-wingers (after Heatley is dealt and Schubert is either gone or plays D)?

Kind of off-topic, but does anyone know, for certain, which RFAs are eligible for arbitration next off-season?

This will be a great reference throughout the year. I made it into a sticky note.

Hennessy has arbitration rights? He's got to be old, because I don't think he's ever played 10 games to qualify for a season (at least not for us).

Oops, I stand corrected. His first season (06/07) he played 10 games; he's played 6 more since then.

I wouldn't be surprised to see us not even tender a qualifying offer for Hennessy.

Yes. Patrick Wiercoch is "all" we got left.

    What has Chicago got?
