That would be foolish since someone will have to take Lazar's place after 9 games.

Are you saying someone will grab Condra off waivers? O'Brien was leading the forwards in goals when he was sent down and nobody claimed him.

No.

Yes.

It's still "No".

This is what I'd do:

MacArthur - Turris - Ryan
Michalek - Zibanejad - Chiasson/Stone
Lazar - Legwand - Chiasson/Stone
Greening - Smith - Neil
Condra

Methot - Karlsson
Cowen - Ceci
Phillips - Gryba
Boro
Wiercioch

Anderson
Lehner

Done and done. That's a competitive lineup.

personally i think i'd waive condra(if i can't trade him) as opposed to waiving hoffman(which i suppose you're doing. I'd aslo think about squeezing young pageau in there. No idea if they really keep Lazar up here past the 9 games. my guess is no since it will most likely be a numbers game that will decide his fate.

Yeah, maybe. I don't see how that would really help us that much sending Lazar back to junior. The only thing he didn't do in junior last year was help Team Canada to a gold, but that wasn't on him.

Hoffman looked good in Toronto, so maybe he has a shot after all. I don't dislike Hoffman, I just don't know where he fits in with the group we have - plus, he's been lapped by Puempel already.

If Puempel goes back to Bingo...can he score 50 goals? I don't see why not.

Condra

Smith wants to play wing. Lazar may only be here for 9 games (and even if not, might need a spell). In that case I'd put Smith in Lazar's place and put Pageau in as the 4LC.

Still no room for Condra.

I was just chatting with a buddy. He proposed the following lineup for the Senators 2017-18 Stanley Cup win:

ZBad-Lazar-Ryan
Mac-Turris-Chiasson
Paul-Dzingel-Stone
Puempel-Smith-Grant

Methot-EK
Cowen-Ceci
Claesson-Wideman

Lehner
Andy

Thoughts?

Really tough to look that far with the future of Methot and Ryan being uncertain right now. I would say that Puempel is more likely to be a Top 6. Actually, if he's only good enough to be a 4th liner, he'd be a bust or career AHLer like The Locker/

Ya, that was where we disagreed as well. He said he just made his top-9, then found a place for Pumps as he thinks MP will be in the lineup then.

waived, traded, bought-out, mutually agreed termination

I don't know how it's going to go down, but I think its unlikely he'll play for the Ottawa Senators this year.
