It's true - was a major overreaction. Hardly consider what she did as causation to publicly embarrassing her in a permanent fashion such as this. Still, not me or anyone I know, so kind of funny.

Not the smartest up and coming criminals:

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/lanow/2011/09/beer-heist-bungled-in-covina.html

Three Covina men are behind bars after they allegedly stole a 30-pack of Tecate beer from a market and attempted to escape but crashed a car and hit an employee who chased them, then one ran through a car wash and another left behind his ID.

Andy Huynh, Nicholas Kalscheuer and Nicholas Fiumetto, all 19, were arrested Wednesday on charges of robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest, according to a Covina police report.

Kalscheuer and Fiumetto entered the Baja Ranch Market about 3 p.m. Wednesday while Huynh remained behind the wheel of a car nearby.

Inside the store, Fiumetto grabbed a 30-pack of beer and the two men ran out. Employees ran after the pair into the parking lot, grabbing and detaining Kalscheuer and later turning him over to police, according to the report.

Fiumetto, meanwhile, threw the beer in the car and jumped in the front passenger seat.
As Huynh pulled out, an employee jumped on the hood of the car to avoid getting run over. Huynh careened through the parking lot, hitting a curb and sending the employee onto the pavement, scraping his arms in the fall, according to the report.

Huynh and Fiumetto ran off. Fiumetto climbed a fence and ran into the Citrus Car Wash next door.

Pepe Pinedo, the car wash manager, was standing amid drying cars when he saw Fiumetto, pursued by two officers, run into the car wash tunnel.

At the time, "there were two cars being washed in the tunnel," Pinedo said. "He got into the wash and the rollers and got all wet.

"By the time, he came out of the car wash, the officer was already on the other end of the tunnel," he continued. "It was kind of funny. It was a nice show."

Huynh ran off but had left his wallet and identification in the car. Police officers contacted him later and convinced him to turn himself in.

Well, if *I* was the parent, then I'd definitely have a severe consequence for Chris. All online access gone for a year or longer, and I'd do everything in my power to enforce it. The girl obviously has issues -- either extremely low self-esteem or and addiction (I *don't* think it's normal teenage behaviour although it's been a while for me, and it was the 70s). He got turned in for hiding a 12-pack. Boo-hoo. If he thinks the punishment is harsh, take it up with the management. Her ratting him out was was nothing in comparison to what he did.

Man, turn your brain off sometimes and laugh at funny stuff. Where is that wet blanket award when you need it?

I guess I try to consider others' feelings and consequences for all involved. If it was something in a National Lampoon movie then, perhaps, I'd turn off my brain and laugh at funny stuff. I know the girl didn't lose a limb or suffer paralysis or something, but this was pretty severe. Less than that -- a hell of a lot less -- has driven kids to suicide.

Want to give me a wet blanket award for that? Go ahead; but I'll still stick by my take on it.

A light plane crashed into a Ferris wheel in Australia, thankfully no one was hurt.

    http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/top-stories/2011/10/03/miraculous-escape-as-plane-crashes-into-ferris-wheel-115875-23462808/

TERRIFIED children escaped death by inches when a light aircraft crashed into a Ferris wheel as they took a ride.

Rescuers had to battle for more than 90 minutes to free a nine-year-old boy and 13-year-old girl who were stranded at the top of the wheel.

And, as they escaped without serious injuries, organisers thanked the bad weather for preventing a worse tragedy.

Organiser Fizal Meah said: Because the rain was stopping and starting, the Ferris wheel was almost empty. But five minutes earlier it had been absolutely packed with kids.

The 52-year-old pilot, Paul Cox, and his 32-year-old passenger were trapped 30ft above ground in the cockpit of their mangled Cheetah S200 for three hours before firefighters managed to free them.

Mr Cox, who admitted he did not see the Ferris wheel before flying into it, said: The next thing I knew, I was stopped inside the Ferris wheel. I had no idea for a few minutes and I was just hoping no one got hurt.

Luckily only five children boarded for the final ride of the day, but mystery still surrounds why the plane, which had taken off only minutes earlier, hit the wheel which was preparing to shut down after the first morning of a three-day festival at Old Bar, a coastal village 220 miles from Sydney, Australia.

Ben Shepherd, spokesman for New South Wales Rural fire Service, said: Thankfully, everyone was taken down and were able to walk away from it.

And paramedic Brett Campbell said: The kids were fantastic. They were calm, well-behaved and very brave. And so were the two gentlemen. They were the best patients we could ever hope for.

    This picture is just ...

This just screams "caption this photo"

So Steve Simmons wrote a book about Mike Danton's life. Without ever involving Mike Danton. How f'd up is that? Clearly this was just an attempt to cash in on this horrific story. It's all over Danton's twitter account:

    http://twitter.com/#!/Mike_Danton

I have never liked Simmons, but this is a whole new low, even for the ridiculous Toronto media. Suddenly Garrioch and Brennan don't seem so bad...I don't think they would pull something like this.

Mailman caught urinating in public in Mississauga:

This is around 9AM, next to a public path kids use to get to school, with a Tim Horton's just up the street.

Why is it always a story when a person gets bit by a dog?

Am I the only one that thinks it is wrong to consider it justice for a dog to be killed because someone got bit with no permanent injury or fatality?

Not to get into an animal rights debate, but please, that is a poor definition of justice.

If the victim could dish out sentences, it would always be harsher than the initial crime.

This is not a SNL skit. Giant killer wasps have claimed the lives of dozens of people in China.

    Story here: http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/killer-hornets-see-first-pictures-2327613

In the story they say they believe the wasps to be the Aisan Giant Hornet, which grow to 5 cm (2") in length with a 6mm sting. THey look bigger in that picture.

Cat attacks baby, holds family hostage.

    http://www.cfra.com/WorldCP/Article.aspx?id=412277

The weirdest thing about this is CFRA reporting and tweeting the story. They typically only have serious news.
