No relation as far as I know.

It says Olympic hockey in the top paragraph, so I assume it applies to it as well.

Just to clarify further, I tried searching for IOC nationality eligibility and came across an article for Great Britain and Northern Ireland, but should apply to all Nationalities. It said if you hold dual citizenship or wish to change your nationality, you must wait 3 years before you can play for the new Nationality.

Myers' has a slightly better chance at making the US teams than Canada, but in a few years he could very well be the new Pronger for Canada.

I would imagine Gionta makes the team as well.

Doubtful. They already have a fleet of undersized scoring forwards, I just don't see any place for him on the team when guys like Kessel, Kane, Drury, Gomez and Stastny are going to be featuring up front.

An article in the T.O. Sun speculating on the US roster had both Orpik and Scuderi on defence. They will need one or two pure physical, shutdown guys I think.

Not bad picks to try and contain the high octane offenses of Russia and Canada.

Dagnabbit, I cannot wait for Olympic hockey to start. The US looks lean and mean, and along with the Russians and the Swedes, should give Canada a run for it's money

I still don't get the Komisarek pick. Is Burke hoping to jump-start him by giving him an Olympic bone? I understand Kessel, but Komisarek is not playing at an Olympic level.

Then, again, neither is Pronger. I barely noticed him when I watched the first period of the Winter Classic.

Yeah, Komisarek has been lowsy this year, but then again, he's been lousy on a lousy team. If you're a USA fan, you're banking on the fact that Burke has been watching Komisarek play all year.

I'm sure his head coach had some input as well. For some reason, Burke just doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to take hurt feelings into consideration when building teams. Although I have heard that he very much so rewards loyalty.

Roenick sounds off on the selection of Drury to team USA.

"Not to take anything away from the guy because he's had such a great
career, but for Chris Drury to be on the team, it baffles me," Roenick
told Toronto radio station AM640.

"I know he's a great leader and if he's captain of the team, he'll be a
great captain, but I just don't see him being as good for the team as a
guy like Gomez would be or T.J. Oshie. Oshie would bring so much energy
to this team and this type of format in an international event, that I
don't understand how those two guys aren't on the team."

"They need someone who has been there, a guy that has had success in
international competition, a captain in his own right and someone to
lead these young guys into the next generation. I thought that guy
might have been Mike Modano. He's probably the one guy that can still
play and be very effective at his age in international competition. I
really thought that he would be on that team... That surprised me."

Oshie was on my team for sure. He's the guy they will have needed for a checking role. He and Brown could do some damage. Plus he has Rick Nash's number. Putting him out there against him would take Rick off his game. I think the individual battles are going to be the difference, like Richards vs. Ovechkin, Crosby vs. Malkin.
