Schubey doobey doo where are you?...

This is where it gets interesting. One and you're done. Despite some lacklustre play vs. the Swiss and a loss to the US for the bye in the the quarter finals; the Canadian team is far from out of medal contention this year. You can talk about chemistry and you can talk about how good Miller is, how dangerous Ovechkin and Kovalchuck are and how experienced and organised the Swedes are but, Canada has stumbled along with shaky goaltending and still has a legitimate shot to take home a medal. Brodeur has been down right awful at times and cost us a valuable point vs. the Swiss and threw away the game vs. the US.

Bingo Bongo it's Roberto Luongo. I know it was just Norway but Luongo still pitched a shut-out and looked solid doing it. There's a lot to be said for playing in front of your home crowd for all the marbles. This move by Babcock was obvious and the easy choice. Lets hope it's a sign that he's willing to move away from some of his other choices in order to bring home the Gold.

It's time for Crosby to step up and force Babcock to make him the go to guy. It would also be nice to see Luongo frustrate the Germans and then the Russians in the Quarter finals.

Pitkanen just got frustrated and let it show by doing something stupid. I'm glad Ruutu didn't try anything crazy to be honest, that game was pure destruction for the Fins. I know the score was 3-0, but it might as well have been 11-0.

Anything less than a demolition of the Germans will be a disappointment for me.

NO offense, but that`s the kind of expectations that no one should have.

That's the beauty of being a fan. It has zero bearing on what happens on the ice nor does it affect how the players approach the game.

What do you mean? This team hasn't come close to gelling yet. Is it too late? Probably, but if they can attack hard in the German zone and start making smarter, crisper passes and plays, then they might, repeat MIGHT be able to carry that over to the Russian game.

I said it way before this. The game vs Germany is good for the Canadians. They need the extra game to get their Dung together, they're not in the right place to be finishing the plays they make. If they lose to Germany, then they're an embarrassment, but they won't I would assume - and everyone should be praying that this is indeed the practice needed to compete with the big guns.

He's saying Team Canada (a lot of them) have very much been reading what people have been writting, listening to what the fans are saying, and all that. It has cost them to this point.

Sturm had the right idea by stroking the collective shaft of Team Canada saying, we probably dont have a chance because they are the best, but we will try. Germany defently thinks they can win that team and if Team Canada thinks its a warm up (Gretzky does from what he said) then wow, would this be disasterous if they lost.

Here's how I see it. Swiss > Germany. Canada stumbled their way to a Shoot out victory with Brodeur in net. With Luongo in net and a similar effort to what was displayed in the Swiss game and Canada still beats Germany.

I don't see Canada doing that personally but that's my take.

Well I just mean the team needs to forget everything that says they should win every game because that's what makes them choke. It`s just human nature, when you think you have more chance than somebody else, you underachieve.

Dont know where on earth you would get this Swiss> Germany thing. The Germans have a NHL PK, and NHL PP, and are way more physical then The Swiss.

There Germans are a decent, hard working team that under the right circumstances can beat Canada. This is one tournament where an under dog ( a big one) always pulls one off.
