These are deeply involved questions - and I think we'll have to wait for the actual game, but if anyone knows, I'm curious.

I just did this in pre-season, so that's pretty cool. That was after the 4-game pre-season. I also signed and called up Tim Erixon for the pre-season and when I sent him down there was no prompt at all, so I don't know if he went to the AHL or back to Sweden, but I would safely say it was to the AHL.

I'm going to say no, based on this:

Took that photo from round 1, game 4 of the SC playoffs. Sid has no beard as you can see, and I looked around at other guys like Guerin, etc and they had no beards other than what they might have had in the first place.

Hey man, came over from the EA boards to ask some questions about the game and found a bunch of sens fans, good deal.
Anyway can you tell us the cost of all the different packs for HUT and if you can trade during the draft in BAGM (not just before each round)

Re: EA NHL 2011 Discussion thread
I will answer most of these questions tomorrow, but @ Sensational (re: draft) it's the same format as last year with pre round trades only.
re: Linus Omark, same situation as last years game, he is in the KHL so not in game. If he makes Oilers or goes to Oklahoma he will be in update. I think I have his ratings from NHL 10 prior to the updates when they removed him from the game when he signed in the KHL, I will see if I do and post them if you want to make him.
Just a note about the packs, prior to the server reset, there were a lot more packs available for purchase, a lot of them said "deal" beside them, meaning they were a special deal. They were same price or less than packs offering less cards and less rare cards per pack. Now here's only 4-6 packs. That's all I got for now, check back tomorrow.
EDIT: HUT packs as of Sept. 4, 11:15am
Peewee Pack: Your basic pack of cards earned by playing Hockey Ultimate Team. Contains 6 cards with a small chance at a rare card.
600 pucks
Standard Pack: This is your Standard Pack for Hockey Ultimate Team. Contains 12 cards (1 rare guaranteed plus a chance for a 2nd rare).
2,500 pucks/80MSP
Jumbo Pack: Better value and double the size of a Standard Pack. Contains 24 cards (4 rares guaranteed plus a chance for a 5th rare).
7,500 pucks/160MSP
Consumable Pack:
Consumables only in these limited packs, perfect for growing players and keeping your superstars. (Contains 15 cards with 4 rare cards).
5,000 pucks/80MSP
Free Agent Pack:
Add some talent to your team or hang on to one of your superstars with this pack. Contains 3 cards with a small chance at a rare card.
FREE
Draft Pack:
Add a player to your team and train him with this pack. Contains 3 cards with a small chance at a rare card.
FREE
NHL 11 Demo Tournament Champ Reward Pack:
Congrats on winning the NHL 11 Demo Tournament. Contains 10 cards with 1 rare card.
FREE
NHL 11 Demo Invitation Reward Pack:
Thank you for inviting others to play the NHL 11 Demo. Contains 5 cards.
FREE
Dash's note: After being ripped off once already losing my MSP for the time being, I am not going to redeem the free packs until Sept. 7 as I do not want to risk losing free packs. And Since the last time I checked the store (yesterday afternoon), two new "free" packs were rewarded (the FA and Draft packs).

Can you make a good broadcast view with the custom camera ?
Are Keith, Markov, Ryan, Bogosian, Johnson(Erik and Jack), Tavares and Hedman have there true faces ?
Thanks for all the info Dash

I'm wondering if it has something to do with players who were in the CHL last year and on CHL rosters in the game, but in reality will be playing professionally this year (20 year olds who are now old enough for the AHL). If so, maybe editing the roster and moving a player from the CHL to the AHL before starting BAGM would make a difference. I want to have Marco Scandella and Tyler Cuma on my AHL roster in my BAGM!
Thanks.

Re: EA NHL 2011 Discussion thread
The only thing that's gonna take me some time to get used to is the passing. This one requires the forward to stay stationary to accept the pass from time to time and doesn't have the same feel as 10 - which is probably good, I was pulling off ludicrous air-passes in NHL10.
I find also so far that it's a *little* easier to walk into the zone and shoot - that results in a goal. In 10, I found I could rarely walk in and score from between the hash marks and the blueline.
Also, I notice the shots from the point are more accurate than in 10. And the angles that players can score from can be much more extreme - like almost red line, side of the net.
It's awesome though obviously, same basic engine I guess, polished a bit in the graphic department.

Re: EA NHL 2011 Discussion thread
Passing is very good this year. Yeah it will take time with the timing, but all in all, it is a much better system. A hard pass travelling a short distance might bounce off recipients stick, but very crisp passes down the middle, tape to tape, leading to breakaways still happen. The passing attribute really makes a difference - for the passer and the receiver - in their ability to send a pass and cleanly receive a pass.
The main issue I have had with passing is the sensitivity for the one touch pass. I press RT a lot, like after I pass I press it to change to the player receiving the pass, and by the time he gets it he is passing it off again.

Can't change the perspective of the camera, only the angle and distance.
Keith - no
Markov - no
Ryan - yes
Bogosian - looks like him IMO
E. Johnson - looks pretty close
J. Johnson - close but I don't think so
Tavares - yes
Hedman -yes

Couldn't sign Granlund as I had no roster space left. Tried to do a 2-1 trade, even included my 1st (was 2 players with low trade value for another player of low trade value), but teams rejected it. Trade logic is too strict.

Thanks for testing. That's a little disappointing but I'll try to find a way around it when I get the game.
Could you check something else for me? I read that all draft picks (I'm not sure if this includes players in the system when the game begins, or if it's referring only to future drafts) have to be signed to entry-level contracts immediately or else they become free agents. Is this true? If so, do they count against the 50 contract limit? While it'll be nice not having draft picks scratched at the AHL level, using contracts for players in juniors will take away from contracts available to fill the AHL roster.

Re: EA NHL 2011 Discussion thread
Off the top of my head, you can sign ELCs and I do not believe they count towards the roster limit. Some do some don't k\not sure which ones did.
I remember I wanted to sign a FA or someone and couldn't as my roster was full, yet I was able to sign a player I already had(?).... I will check in a bit for sure.
And as far as drafted players go, I think you can keep them unsigned in your system for 2 years. I will check that too.

Dash wrote:Passing is very good this year.
Me too, I press the RT a LOT and I've noticed the same. Plus, have you found it hard to hold the pass button without getting creamed? I'll see an opening, I press the pass button slightly longer to get a hard pass off and inevitably I'm hit.
PS - the hitting in this game is WONDERFUL. Love it. I've already broken a couple of guys.

Pass timing will come, you have to anticipate like in real life. Sometimes you get caught holding the puck too long, it happens.
The hitting is awesome. The animations are so much more realistic.

Thanks for finding this. I'll modify him as soon as I get the chance.

Just a heads up I found this years fake player: Bradley Cooper (not the actor). He's a 16 yr old goalie in the FA list with a 95 OVR.
And I said I would look for Linus Omark's ratings from NHL 10 prior the roster updates, when he was removed:
LW Linus Omark #30

Scouting is done by leagues, so you can send your scouts to the WHL, OHL, QMJHL, USA, DEL, O2 Extrakiga, SWISS, SM LIGA, SEL, and Russia and then "Rest of World". Scouting assignments still one to six weeks in duration.

Re: EA NHL 2011 Discussion thread
BAGM with Oilers - any CHL players I wanted to send down after pre-season had to go to CHL. Thats just the way it seems to be. MPS could go to AHL though.
I qualified offers to RFAs Cogliano and McDonald - only McDonald accepted, and Cogliano became a hold out. After Dec 1., RFA holdouts who were qualified but not re-signed become ineligible to play until July 1, and if unsigned, become UFA.
Trade deadlines is same as last year with a few rounds of offers.
Trading is just too hard to pull off now. Trade deadline was boring. Wish the trade negotiations weren't a no or yes, but you could go back and forth a couple of times with counters (didn't 09 have that?). I hate having to pull up the same trade offer everytime it is rejected to just tweak it. Plus you only get as many chances as you have phones.
I simmed the entire season with the most current rosters, and trades/waivers off... and Buffalo wins the cup.
