Absolutely loved that course. I got an A+. That was about 7 years ago though so the course has probably changed substantially.

I got my BA in Psychology at Carleton with a minor in Sociology. 2nd year Forensic Psychology was one of my favourites and was second only to 2nd year Social Psychology. Some of the experiments they did on people back in the 70's were nasty and would never get ethical approval today. Interesting stuff and interesting findings though.

I'm in first year right now, probably going to select Crime, Law and Deviance as my program (basically Sociology). Taking Psychology and Philosophy as well, and Visual Culture (too artistic).

I had a bit of an eclectic mix after settling on Psych with the Soc minor. I have 1st and 2nd year Algebra, 1st year Industrial design and 1st year Astrology to name a few quirky subjects that don't quite fit the program.

Yeah that seems to happen quite a bit to just fill in your timetable. I'm not sure I will continue in Psych, but seeing you mention Social Psychology perhaps UTM offers it as a Social Science... but I doubt it. The thing with U of T is there Psychology program is a BSc, not BA. I'm not much a technical science guy.

I have 3 choices... specialist program, Major-minor-minor, or major-major-minor.... still not sure what to do. Tough decisions.

It's funny but, when I took this degree at least, there was a course for Social Psychology that was under the Psychology department and another that was under the Sociology department. Same was true for the research methods course.

Yeah that wouldn't surprise me actually - I think they do offer similar or same courses under different programs. I will have to take a look at the course calendar. Philosophy is not that bad either, but I find some of the theories dull.

Philosophy never really interested me. The closest I came was a course on the Sociology of Science and Technology where the professor constantly got very philosophical during his lectures. Very boring to me personally. For example he'd went off on a tangent about the transporter device in Star Trek and suggested that the person coming out the other side of the transporter was someone completely new. bla bla bla boring.

Different courses, or cross-referenced? I took a course at Carleton a couple of years ago (Science and Tech in the Ancient World) that was listed in Engineering as well as Humanities.

Ooooh yeah.... we covered that theory. That's Personal Identity with John Locke, David Hume and Bernard Williams. They talked about psychological continuity, the mind, the body, the man, etc.

Anyone have any ideas on how Segway can market their product to increase sales and market share? Smile

Hmm...tough, since it's impossible to use one without looking like a dork. That's like trying to increase Spam's market share. How do you make something Dungy more attractive to consumers?

EDIT: I added the "y" because the filter doesn't differentiate between the adjective and noun forms of the word that it filtered. I demand changes! Dammit!

Yeah I don't really believe Segway will ever be hugely successful, and I don't think new marketing strategies will really work for them but I gotta come up with at least 2 for them. Maybe make mini-Segways for the kids since kids are obese these days and they'd rather play on Segways than bikes or scooters? Shrug

Bring back Arrested Development! Or at least help with getting the AD movie going.
