2011 NHL Draft Lottery - Tue. April 12th - 8:00pm EST

Well, the moment is here... the DRAFT lottery goes tonight.

TSN has live coverage tonight starting at 7:00pm with a Fantasy Draft Special followed by the 2011 NHL Draft Lottery @ 8:00pm.

Sens fans had hoped to be in a bit better position, but we find ourselves in 5th spot. Current lottery positions are as follows:

Hopefully the Sens can win the lottery and move up to the top!

That table lists the percentage that an NHL team has of being selected first in the Draft Drawing, not the chance of landing the first overall pick. The team drawn out first moves up a maximum of four spots and that means Edmonton has a 48.2 percent chance of picking first overall because teams seeded sixth to 14th could win the draw, but could not jump past the Oilers.

It would be nice if they got the 1st overall but it honestly doesnt matter all that much. Being bumped from 5th to 6th isn't even that big of a deal.

Of course it matters..MUCH. The 1st overall pick would guarantee Ottawa the prospect they want. I'd rather have one of RNH, Landeskog, or Larsson over anyone else...Picking #1 guarantees that. Being bumped from 5 to 6 isn't that big a deal, but winning the lottery certainly would be.

Yep, obviously the most likely scenario is we pick 5th. Which isn't too shabby. The real question is how aggressive will Murray be to move up? And at what cost?

I believe the NSH pick is off limits, but he may try to package up a pair of seconds to see if he can move up. That's about as far as he goes, I believe.

WTF, I've been sitting here for a few mins just hitting the button to simulate and Ottawa just will not win, but just about every other team has. Edmonton, Atlanta, NYI, Florida, Colorado, St. Louis... the hatred!!!!

Edit: Add Minnesota to the list too.

EDIT: And Boston.... and Now Columbus... and Carolina.... :crossarms:

Last year NHL.com was streaming the event live. Anyone know if this is going to be streamed online anywhere? Our friend in the Far East may want to check it out.

NHL.com says it will stream it live but then adds "...in the US." I hope that doesn't mean it's *only* available in the US.

Plus, TSN starts its coverage before the actual draft, with likely some last-minute ranking of the top 5 or top 10. Will TSN.ca stream it live?

It definitely will be on the radio (Team1200) which you can stream. I don't think the visual is all that important. Also, Bryan Murray will guest on the station following the lottery which should be interesting.
