I heard they capped the waiting list at 8,000. Holy crap.

    Next Winnipeg GM?

According to the Winnipeg Free Press, True North has offered the position to current Chicago Blackhawks assistant GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.

    That's incredible.

Question... do they have to leave some tickets for sale to the public on game day? Or can they sell out the whole arena to Season Ticket Holders... like the Leafs do.

They have to hold back some tickets to allow for game day sales, tickets for players' family/friends etc... Winnipeg held back 2,000 tickets. Based on the response so far, they'll be sold out every night for a while.

Bettman must be somewhat disappointed. Wink

Or, at the very least, conflicted.

Heh. I wonder if he was secretly hoping they would not hit the 13,000 mark so he could point to it as a reason for failure...

This supports a move to Quebec City even more... Phoenix has got to go there after next season... GOT TO.

But, on the other hand, he's raising revenues, and revenue sharing.

All this talk of McLean for the Sens bench boss role, McLean is a former Jet. They're looking for a head coach, are they not? Mind you, they're also looking for a GM, first.

Craig Ramsay is still employed for the time begin, and Kevin Cheveldayoff will be the GM

A GM change usually triggers a coaching change... but we'll see how this all goes down...

Moose head coach Claude Noel is the favorite for the "Jets" HC position but I believe it'll technically be Cheveldayoff's decision (assuming he accepts the position).

Assuming they let Ramsay go would he be a good choice for the Sens ? (kinda OT)

The current Moose GM will probably be the coach.

I read the current GM (Craig Heisinger) will be director or Player Personnel.

Cheveldayoff was already offered the GM position, it'll be his choice who the coach will be (whether to keep Ramsay or go with someone else).

Early speculation was that Heisinger would be given the GM job, so the Cheveldayoff hire is a bit of a surprise. I wonder if there's anyone in the Chicago pipeline that might be considered for the coaching gig?

He hasn't accepted anything yet, has he?

Mike Haviland was mentioned a few times most notably for the Florida job (due to his connections with Tallon).
