When you start Be a Pro mode, your aim will suck regardless of your controller. Also, the aim is a little more sensitive it seems, as holding to one side or the other for a second or two when winding up now results in shots that go wide more often than not. It's nice to see shots going wide versus picking the corner all the time.

Read above. Circumstances have changed. I'm not buying an old version.
It's OK. Basically extremely similar to last year. I don't play any of the other game modes so I can't comment.
Not sure if I will even buy the real version. Probably.

Re: EA Sports NHL 2012
Nice presentation.
Not sure if I would recommend running out and buying it right away though for people who know and adore 11. There are some changes so far (I only played one game), but it seemed to me personally that every player could hit - and hit hard - which is slightly unrealistic.
Played my first game on All-Star to get used to it and had no real issues shutting down the Red Wings with the Sens (3-0 was the final).
I made one trade - that was - spare parts Shannon, Svatos, 1st Round Pick, 2nd round pick and I think one other useless piece for Toews, so good to see that's still alive and well lol.
Still, really nice fluid pace to the game. For the first time I'd say at this point and time, give me another week to tell you if you NEED to upgrade.

How's Zibanejad rated in the game? Overall and potential I mean, if you don't mind.
He's not in it, sadly. Not even on Djurgarden.
You have to play with Shannon and Benoit on the Sens if you play online. No Filatov, he's in Binghamton. Konopka is a healthy scratch.
Gonchar-Karlsson is the default first pairing.
I think there is a roster update now, because when i did my fantasy draft for Be a GM (gonna wait for the roster update at the start of the season for my proper sens BaGM) I found Zibanejad. He's a 71 overall, with B- potential in every category. He's also a RW in the game. Then when I left the game mode, I went to check the Djurgarden roster, and sure enough he was there. No picture though. Claesson is there too.

Ok they must have updated it.
They did update the pre-release on the last day, too. Thank god I didn't have to play with Shannon and Benoit anymore.

Here's a question -
If I were to get it, PS3 or XBox360?
EDIT: I'm asking about the better platform for the game, not better platform overall. Let's not get into that.

I kinda prefer the 360 one but they are basically identical. It comes down to the controller you prefer.

Nope, no downloading at all except for roster updates and tuner sets which take like 10 seconds. Are you planning on playing online?

Of course it's worth updating!!!! To download the updated rosters, you need to go through the menus in-game. Under the Xbox Live menu, I believe there is an option to "Download Rosters", then you pick the newest one (I think there's only one available), and then when it asks to overwrite your existing rosters, pick Yes. This will not overwrite or change any rosters in your Be a GM mode, so don't worry about that. I'm not sure if, with the updated rosters, guys like Svatos are still on the Sens?
I played a bunch of my Be a Pro, and the HUT mode last night. Good times.

I think you might need a gold membership FYI, don't know if you have one or if that is even still the case.
I read there's still a few error with the update. Leclaire still on Sens, just as a lot of other UFAs are on their last teams, not in the FA list.

Yeah, I don't know why they do that. I haven't checked myself for any errors, but having FAs on their old teams just seems odd. I'm sure there must be a reason other than laziness/errors.

They have also gotten the handedness wrong for some players, though I looked into some of the players they got wrong once, and depending on the site you went to, some said (even the AHL site for example, LH when the player is really RH).
I'm not defending them, cause they need to have better support for these games.
I'm also dealing with not being able to use my name Steve online for my EASHL pro, since Steve is a profane name

I love the fact that we can hit goalies in this one, it's about time. They always had some sort of force field around them before which was quite irritating when you were pissed and wanted to give them a nudge.
Do they ever fight back though? I haven't played often enough yet to know..just curious

Re: EA Sports NHL 2012
Yup, pretty stupid. Can't get to the bottom of it either.
I agree the goalies being fair game is cool. I have found that if you hit another team's goalie (after the whistler cause there's no penalty) that it will automatically initiate a fight for you, which means if an opposing player chooses to, you will have to fight. I like that - forced accountability.
I ended up fighting a computer (by accident) because I was pressing Y repeatedly (hehe) after the whistle and a computer AI player bumped our goalie. So the other team had a "man advantage" of sorts because my team was down one human controlled player.
But a human goalie can also fight and not have to sit for 5+ mins, but another human (if there is one) will have to sit in his place. So it sucks for that person.
