    No Comeau

Why not? 24 goals last year, the kid is 25 years old on one of the worst run franchises in the league and has lost his confidence. A change of scenery wouldn't do him a world of good?

Sure why not. I was just saying No Comeau for entertainment purposes.

No Mo Comeau would have been slightly funnier but only slightly.

Good question. Something's wrong, for sure.

They lost 2-0. Maybe it's the scoring?

Not just this game. He's 10-12-2 with a GAA north of 3 (though just barely), and a SV% of .901. Those numbers sure make it seem like something is wrong with Miller.

SV% of .903 and GAA of 3.07 is what Anderson is sporting right now. Just sayin'. Point taken though.

But the slopes are the difference. Anderson *was* at .868 and is now at .903. He was *at* 3.45 and is now at 3.07.

    Here's something interesting:
    pghpenguins Pittsburgh Penguins
#Pens coach Bylsma: Sidney Crosby will join team tonight in Wash and will skate on his own during trip. No timetable for return

Does he feel compelled to comeback or is he really better?

Carcillo may need surgery on his leg, and may be done for the season. He's serving a 7 game suspension for his hit on Gilbert, the same play on which he got hurt himself.

Dreger says the obvious: Edmonton has Hemsky 100% available. That's a guy I could see Murray in on - and I DON'T want to spend a 1st or good prospect for him.

a 1st or a good prospect? Laugh1 before the season they showed a stat on the Oilers points % with him, without him, and without him and Hall (?). IIRC, with Hemsky it was .7, without him it was .85, without both it was .78. I didn't think much of it at the time, but the Oilers started the year off strong and literally as soon as Hemsky came back from injury, they faded into obscurity.

Call it coincidence, but between this, his enigmatic and soft play, and how prone to injury he is, I don't think he's a good pick-up.

    hahaha!

PHANEUF VOTED MOST OVERRATED PLAYER IN NHL PLAYER POLL
Despite the fact the Toronto Maple Leafs are currently sitting in a playoff spot, their captain Dion Phaneuf isn't getting much love from his peers around the league.

Sports Illustrated polled 161 NHL players asking them to name the most overrated player in the league and Phaneuf topped the list.

Joining Phaneuf were Alex Ovechkin (second), Scott Gomez (third), Roberto Luongo (fourth) and Dany Heatley (fifth).

Phaneuf wasn't the only Leaf to be named to the unflattering list, as teammate Mike Komisarek came in 10th.

"Yes, players dumb enough to participate in polls designed to crap on fellow NHLPA members are not very bright," Leafs general manager Brian Burke told the Toronto Star. "I am thrilled to have both players on my team.

"And by the way? Anyone who wants to tell Dion that in person should fly to Ottawa in about two weeks," Burke added.

Ottawa is the site of this year's NHL All-Star game where Phaneuf will appear after being one of six players voted in by the fans.

Phaneuf is sixth among defencemen in total goals and points this year, with seven goals and 28 points points on the season and his point totals makes him the third highest scoring Leaf behind Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul.

The news is nothing new for Phaneuf, who was voted the most overrated by a similar Sports Illustrated poll in 2010.

"A very simple answer for an anonymous poll," said Leafs assistant GM Dave Poulin, "is that people tend to vote for players they don't like to play against."

Rounding out the top 10 in the Sports Illustrated poll were Ilya Kovalchuk (sixth), Vincent Lecavalier (seventh), Jay Bouwmeester (eighth), Ryan Kesler (ninth) and Komisarek. In addition to Bouwmeester, the Calgary Flames also had Jarome Iginla and Olli Jokinen on the list at 12th and 14th, respectively.

Speaking of "loser Habs", Gionta had surgery to repair a tear in his biceps. He'll be out for a while.

Hemsky's only relevant playoff experience was that year Edmonton made their run. He scored 17 points in 24 games...not too shabby. I think we could do better though, at a lower price. The market for Hemsky will likely be competitive and price Ottawa out.

    Games of interest:

Habs @ Bruins: I don't think they stand a chance, but I can always hope. If the Bruins go on a 5 game losing streak (those are the games in hand) we'd be only 3 points back of them. Dare to dream!

Flyers @ Islanders: Islanders are 5-5-0 in their last 10, Flyers 5-4-1. Isles just beat Detroit, for crying out loud. I'll be rooting for them, for sure. Flyers are just 2 points ahead of Ottawa (but with 3 games in hand).

Sharks @ Jets: If Jets win they'll push the Penguins into 10th place and the Caps into 9th.

Someone else can break down the games of interest in the west.

    Habs are getting :rp:

Canucks/Blues looks interesting. Both teams are playing well. Canucks have a 2pt edge on the Blues. They're the top 2 teams in the West at the moment.

Flames/Ducks will hopefully see the Flames continue to win. Ducks have put together a few wins recently...

Given that 87's career is over, it's almost fair that they get Yakupov.
