Sammy Pahlsson is leaving the NHL - going to sign with MODO. Really, really good 3rd line PKer, F/O guy and checking forward.

I think they're pretty comparable, to be honest. JBo is, unquestionably, overpaid, but he is used to playing bigger minutes that Ballard and is at least as gifted offensively.

Ballard is more physical, he actually throws hits.

Melnyk would never approve J-Bo's contract on this team anyway.

I think the Sens may go after Cam Barker if he is not qualified by the Oilers. Apparently Murray has asked about him in the past and could be had for next to nothing.

If it comes to that, I'd prefer that BM skate up himself and take that 3rd spot on the left side. Cam Barker is utterly useless.

Ya, Barker's pretty horrawful. No thanks.

Seriously, dude can't cut in on the bottom pairing, on the worst blueline of the NHL's worst team? How is he an option for any team at this point?

According to the Edmonton Journal, Cam Barker will not even get a qualifying offer from Edmonton.

Cam Barker will almost certainly be playing in Europe, or the AHL, this year, if you ask me.

Barker is a total and utter bust. Amazing he was the guy that went after Ovechkin and Malkin, haha.

    Looks like it.

He somehow got 40 pts in his first year in Chicago.

Blues resign Jackman for 3 years.

    $3 million, $3.25, $3.25

Scratch one D-man off the UFA list.

Looks like the only option left is Cam "Barks" Barker.

I read on HB from a Philly fan.. that the Flyers have re-signed Carle. Will be done on July 1st. Not sure how valid that is however..

Yup. They're waiting because of the tagging rule for the cap.

Could we get the inside track? Lehner + 1st for negotiating rights?

Really...not sure I'd believe that until it's announced formally...they still have to sign Voracek and there was a rumour around that they were gonna re-sign Jagr as well, although I hear that Dreger is reporting that Jagr will hit the open market.

Dubinsky being aggressively shopped apparently. Not that it concerns us really, but interesting.

The dude carries a $4 million cap hit. A little pricey in my opinion.

Knowing the Rangers they are probably trying to clear that money for Jagr.
