    A very deserving award for Mr. Melnyk. I like how they call Spezza our best player, though, as if Karlsson doesn't exist.

    Callahan signing a new contract with T-Bay for 5 or 6 years at $5.5M+ per year (wow).

    T-Bay also buying out Ryan "Much Maligned" Malone.

    Report: Lightning buy out Malone

    Joe Smith of the Tampa Bay Times is reporting, the Lightning have initiated the compliance buyout process for veteran Ryan Malone. The move is a cap savings of 4.5-million.

    Penguins to unveil Johnston as new HC

    Portland Winterhawks head coach Mike Johnston has reportedly agreed to a three year deal to become the next head coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins. The official announcement is expected at Noon today.

    Lightning sign Callahan to long-term deal

    The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Ryan Callahan to a six-year contract. The deal is expected to have an average annual value of 5.8-million and include a partial no-trade clause.

    Oilers Acquire Nikita Nikitin

    The Edmonton Oilers have acquired defenseman Nikita Nikitin in exchange for a fifth round selection in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. Nikitin had 15 points and 20 penalty minutes in 66 games with the Blue Jackets last season. Nikitin is believed to have signed a 2 year deal with the Oilers.

    I hope we can start hearing the preferred destination for stastny or even better where he'll actually chose to go. Would be nice to hear who's interested and more specifically if the sens are throwing an offer.
