Raptors finally back in the playoffs

Post by shabbs on Wed Apr 23, 2014 8:34 am

Nice to see them get the win last night and tie the series. I think Game 1 was a bit of a "starry eyed surprise" for them. Hopefully they're back on the ground now and can take the series. We had season tickets to the Raps for the 2000-2001 season. I'm shocked at the ticket prices this year for the playoffs. I should not be, but still am. Crazy.

    GO RAPS GO!

Yeah, I saw some of the ticket prices when someone posted them on Twitter. It was pretty nuts. Apparently the atmosphere inside the ACC hasn't been great either, but that's not a shock given what we see at Leaf home games.

I can't stand basketball at all, and would likely only watch if the Raptors actually made the finals.

Is it true they are changing the name next season?

I don't think they are changing the name, but are looking at changing the colours and re-branding it. Lots of talk of going with the colour red for a closer link to Canada. We'll see.

The atmosphere looks pretty crazy at the ACC from what I've seen. And they have the crowds outside again. Pretty insane. Always better when you win. Wink

I was at a regular season game this season and the atmosphere was nuts, I can't even imagine during the playoffs. It's even louder than the Sens during the playoffs I can tell you that.

    I've been at both.
EDIT: I know you prob haven't watched the first 2 Raps games, but the players had a hard time hearing the whistles. That's how loud it was.

It would seem that you are correct about the ACC having a good atmosphere for the playoff games:

I was listening to TSN 1200, and they had some American show on...the guy said the atmosphere was dead, but I know see that he was just full of Dung.

I've been to a lot of Sens playoff games and I can tell you that the year they made it to the finals the atmosphere went up and the volume went up significantly each round. I can't say what it's like at the Raptors games but if it's better than that then good job TO for that.

I've been to many Raptors games this year and found the crowd to be very loud. A friend who was at the game on Tuesday said it was the loudest he has ever heard in the ACC. My friends tickets have skyrocketed to $200 a seat per game. The Leafs crowd always suck. I was also at a game in Ottawa for the finals and couldn't believe how loud it was in there. Hopefully that will happen again real soon.

Even last year against Montreal CTC was rocking. I was there for game 3 (Pageau Pageau Paguea and the brawl) and it was unreal. Besides game 3 of the finals in 07 that's the best game I have ever attended.
