    Anything interesting in there?

So Nick Paul's invited to Team Canada evaluation camp. Harpur not invited. Bummer.

What about Lazar? His name is not on the list, what gives? Is he a shoe-on because he was there last year and still eligible?

Ah, players on NHL rosters are not invited to camp (they'd be shoe-ins if their club let them go).

Getting Methot back crowds things a lot. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a trade in the next 24 hours.

After listening to the Bobby Ryan interview about his finger I still wonder if they may put him on IR. It would mean 10 days from the last game, but is he really much use to the team if he can't shoot, pass or receive a pass? He basically said he let the puck hit the boards on a pass and take it off the rebound rather than take it straight on the stick. If he's in that much discomfort that's going to affect his play.

That said, putting him on IR would only solve the 23-man roster situation, it won't help that we have some seriously underproducing forwards right now: Michalek, Zibanejad, Ryan, Condra, Greening and, to a lesser extent, Turris.

    Put Phillips on IR?

    Waive Wiercioch?

It's game day so there should be something soon (don't they have to place players on waivers by noon?)

I can't see Wiercioch being waived. I think IR only has to be 7 days for Bobby, and that would likely be the smartest and easiest move at this point. Methot might not return until Thursday which would buy the Sens a bit more time.

The one thing I don't like in Ottawa right now is the vets are blocking any kind of chance guys like Pageau, Prince, Claeson, Puempel, Robinson, etc, etc, are getting of showing a little something in the NHL.

Yeah, this is an issue with carrying as many players as we are. We're rife with mediocre players blocking any call-ups.

Exactly and with a fairly young team and no vets that can actually make a difference it's easy to lose confidence but it's also easy to play over your heads. They have gone from one extreme to another with no real signs of the vets helping turn it around. Phillips, Smith, Greening, Michalek, those are the players holding the Sens back.

I know it's just for show, but if they sign Alfie and he skates the warmup (as I suggested ) doesn't that mean he has to be on the playing roster? With Methot back that would be 25 players.
