    GDT: Sens @ Rangers - Thursday, Apr 9th, 7:00pm

Post by tim1_2 on Thu Apr 09, 2015 7:19 am

This is a game of mild importance to our beloved Senators. I don't think there will be any lineup changes for the Sens, whereas I think the Rangers will start Lundqvist after Talbot played in their last game.

The Rangers have played us well all year. Hopefully they have a bit of a let down after clinching top spot in the league. They are well-coached, though, and have earned their spot with hard work. This is our toughest test yet.

    In Hammond we trust.

Early reports have it that hams are most likely to be burgled tonight. Firming up details but, for now we'll wait and see.

Anything new on your end SSF?

Not sure, maybe they save Lundqvist for Saturday so he doesn't have to wait a week for the 1st round?

It's also interesting in that by losing the Rangers very likely will help set up a re-match in the first round. Cinderella story aside, you'd think the Rangers would prefer *not* to face the Bruins.

I mentioned this before in another thread, but if there was ever a game for a team to throw, this might be it. The Rags would likely prefer to face us than the Bruins (or maybe Penguins) in the first round. I don't think teams ever "throw" anything these days, though, so that's likely just a pipe dream.

I see this as by far our toughest test. Rags always play well against us. You could say they'll be taking it easy after clinching top spot but as mentioned, this team is very well coached and committed to their game plan. I think they'll see this as a no pressure game and opportunity to fine-tune their game heading into the playoffs.

Yeah, exactly. They're the top team for a reason. Plus Lundqvist will be looking to round into playoff form. We're going to have to come out flying and never let up. We looked nervous in the first period against Pittsburgh...no room for that tonight. We gotta stay out of the box, too!

That will be tough with the directive issued to the refs from "up top". tinfoil hat
