The Rangers figured it's only fair that they sit out Nash, Staal and Zuccarello since Detroit will be playing les Habs without Pacioretty, Staal and Zuccarello.

For the sake of my heart, I'd prefer some sort of blowout victory, but yeah, I'll settle for whatever, as long it results in 2 points for the Mighty Senatores.

Coach Dave "Weird Accent" Cameron confirms there will be no lineup changes.

    You forgot no Staal either.

How can they rest those guys without the NHL intervening and saying it's upsetting the competitive balance?

uh-oh, first game alert. Ray Bourque's son will play his first NHL game against the Sens. Hope they don't do their usual and give him his first NHL goal.

There are rules, I'm sure, just like in exhibition games, but the whole point of doing well in the regular season is so you can afford to rest your vets/horses in the last week/weekend. Zuccarello has also been injured, hasn't he?

Plus, as I said, Montreal is playing Detroit and they don't have Pacioretty, Staal or Zuccarello either.

If there's anyone who hasn't scored in "more than a calendar year" put them down for a goal as well.

Of course they're day to day. What else is he gonna say. Technically a lot of them could claim the same thing. Players play through stuff all the time. Now that the rangers have nothing to play for some of them can just not play through it. Hopefully that pays off for us.

Last NYR game was a disaster. Hopefully the Sens have a better handle on them tonight, especially with Staal, Nash, and Zuc out.

Go Sens. A win tonight puts a ton of pressure on Pitts and Boston.

Ryan Bourque will be playing his first game. Despite the genes, this is a 24 year old "kid" with 266 AHL games under his belt. So not exactly a hot young prospect.

That said, the Sens could still give him his first ever NHL point/goal/whatever. I don't think they discriminate on talent.

It was close, but I agree with waving off Ottawa's goal. I don't think ZBad should've got a penalty though.

For whatever reason, we have tons of trouble generating offense against the Rangers.

No way it should have been a penalty. That play is right on the edge of good goal and incidental contact.

The ice looks terrible at MSG. It strikes me as a 2-1 sort of game. Ottawa also started off the game trying to ensure that they don't lose the same way they did two weeks ago in Ottawa. They need to play to win, which I think they started to do after their terrible PP.

Wow, just caught up to live a little after the end of the second. If only Condra remembered who he was and just tried to lazar it through the goalie we could have had a 3-0 lead.

As of this moment Forsberg, Gaudreau and Stone all have 62 point. Gaudreau's Flames are hosting the Kings tonight. Forsberg has a goal as the Preds are up 2-0 on the Wild. Coming right down to the wire.

Crazy good win. Ottawa really limited grade A scoring chances against and Hammond was rock solid. You could tell the Rangers' hearts weren't in it, which is totally fine by me.
