Pretty much solves the PF issue though, he's the guy I wanted the Sens to snag in the Spezza deal last year. Doubt it happen though.

Well I disagree. I'll take Nish the Russian. Even if it means adding a bit to a goalie to get him.

Would you trade nish or Ritchie for Lehner with lehner as a centerpiece?
Especially Nish. That guy could become a monster. To me Dallas was one of those teams I was very interested in trading with. They have a few pieces that I think could do well. Nils is balsy too so you never know.

Again, if they move Lehner with a contract it's going to be picks and only picks. 2, 2nds is just fine. Keep stocking up the cupboard, if the Sens challenge for the cup in the next 2-5 years they will need the depth.

I don't get it but whatever. We'll discuss after the trade happens.

I can never tell how serious you are. I imagine there's a minimum of truth behind your comments.

Pretty much everything I say puns out.

stay tuned

My point was that Dallas wouldn't do it most likely.

I'm fine with picks but it can't be just a second rounder. The return has to be more than that.

If they're moving a bad contract with it, there's no way they're getting more than a couple 2nds. Not a chance.

Besides that, in all honesty what is Lehner's actual value? MAYBE straight up for the 16th overall? At best. Fact is if some schmuck like myself knows about Lehner's short comings so does the rest of the NHL world. There's huge risk trading for Lehner, like really big.

I doubt it's the 16th even at best. I wish though.

NEELY, the "rest of the NHL world" is not at all like anyone here, spending way too much time thinking/reading/search for news about the Sens. I doubt "the rest of the NHL" was in that rec league game, either. Fact is (to borrow a phrase) they just talk to people they trust. If that person happens to be employed by the Senators then the answer they get will likely be not the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. If the person you spoke with is a payer *not* in the locker room then he is getting at most information from one person in the room. If the person you spoke with is not a player but is in the organization then what he said may well not be "the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth".

If Lehner really is all this then no-one would want to trade for him, certainly not for anything more than a 3rd or later rounder. And if that's the case, then Anderson would clearly be the better trade for the organization.

If you think about it it makes a lot of sense. A while back the value on lehner was really good GM's were calling in to start talking to Ottawa about Lehner. Then things cooled off, they cooled off a lot. Suddenly Lehner wasn't the hottest goalie on the market. And at that time Talbot was also set to be available. My guess is word might have gotten out. You can't keep that kind of info out when you have paid staffs out there to gather up information. Of course we(as fans) would actually find out later than the people that's their job to find this stuff out.
Makes a lot of sense to me as to why his value seems to have dropped.

Or staff member doesn't like b murray or likes Tim murray and spreads rumours to hurt b mur or help Tim murray. Lots of game playing. Everything should be taken with a grain of salt

Not what this discussion was about at all. If I hear something from a player within the organization, I believe it.
