They've been the way better team. That last penalty was not one.

For some reason the Sens tend to get more than their fair share of those. They need to play super squeaky clean and not give the refs anything to even consider a penalty. Always keep your fee moving, never coast.

apart from lazar almost scoring I still say he would benefit from heading down to bingo. Just so he could get a handle on his offensive opportunities. He's just not thinking them through enough.

Bobby Ryan with a few better chances when playing with Turris.

Lazar doesn't need to be an offensive player right now. He's their best defensive forward.

    Shootouts. Meh.

True. He's like the new Condra. A 4th line PK specialist on a deep team.

The story of the season so far: Can't beat the good teams. Can barely beat the bad ones.

    Not good.

    Trades, please.

I'd be down for a top 6 centre to push Zib down and create three scoring lines

The sens have a choice. Either put Ryan with Turris or go trade for a playmaker to play with him. You can't have your highest Paid player not in a position to succeed.

I hope the game was good. I tried to watch it on Gamecenter, but they wanted more money (I bought the full access pass, then got an error message saying that I only bought a single-team access). So, I called Rogers.

    "9 minute wait."

After about 15 minutes, I get a guy who asks for my first name.

    5 minutes on hold.

Then he asks for my last name.

    5 minutes on hold.

Then he asks for my account number. I get half way through and he says its the wrong account number. I say that I only have GC as a Rogers product. He abruptly says, "Hold please."

40 minutes later I hang up.

    I call back.

    "5-15 minute wait."

I wait 12 minutes. A lady comes on the line. I explain what just happened and ask that she not put me on hold at all. She agrees and just uses her mute button. After 10 minutes of her coming back to the line then putting me on mute to talk to her supervisor, she explains that she can't help me because I'm only a GC customer and she can't access my account. I insist that she get me through to GC directly. She can't. She says it'll be a 35 minute wait and that she's really sorry. I believe her, but it is what it is.

I finally get through. This call has been about 55 minutes to this point (About 2 hours total right now). I get through. I tell the lady that I'd like to go straight to escalation and speak to her supervisor.

"I'm sorry, my supervisor isn't taking calls. It's after hours."

I explain that I've been on hold for 2 hours and I need to speak to someone right now. I'm being as nice as I can. She goes back to her supervisor who again refuses to take the call. I have the poor call agent go ahead and process a refund. She encourages me to call back tomorrow. I insist on getting a call from a supervisor. She says she sent an email and guarantees I'll get a call tomorrow.

    I'll keep you posted.

Yeah Rogers sucks. I find their online chat to work very fast though.

Except Condra was not a 1st round pick.

I'm coming up on my 2 years switching to Bell Fibe. Kids hate the wifi -- I used to have my own router when with Rogers but accidentally threw out the AC adapter for it so stuck with Bell's router for now. My own router had some bells and whistles where I could automatically turn off their wifi access at certain times. I miss that. Anyhow, I've got a few bargain chips I think:
    - cancel my wife's smartphone plan and switch her to Wind (saves me $35/month and gets her unlimited everything; currently she's at 1/2 GB) -- let's see what their counter offer is
    - Rogers new box has 10 tuners, theirs has 4 (and if the upstairs box is on I'm down to 3 because it grabs one for the "Pause live TV" feature)
    - They may also be limited to 3 HD channels simultaneously anyway, not sure, used to be like that
    - their wi-fi sucks, but their new wifi router is much better (longer reach, more features like the ones I miss) -- maybe they'd upgrade me for free?
    - with Rogers I got *some* West-coast feeds included in VIP (the Canadian ones, not US networks) -- with 10 tuners I wouldn't need it but still useful is there is an outage and you record a later feed

I never liked the user interface on the Rogers box; Fibe is better, but it used to be much better. Some functions have been disabled/replaced/"augmented" over the last few updates and it's not as good as it used to be. Not sure if the Rogers box has improved or not -- anyone know what changes have been made since 2-3 years ago?

Once again, lucky to get a point and a lot to work on.

Wiercioch is detrimental, clearly they have to decide if it's worth keeping him in at this point, but taking him out will really hurt his confidence down the road.

no question, over the first 6, I like Cowen more than Wiercioch. As long as Cowen keeps it simple and doesn't try to do more than his hockey IQ allows, he's fine. Wiercioch could easily be replaced by Wideman. At least Wideman has the ability to skate out of trouble. If Wiercioch can't find his stretch pass, he just makes stupid plays and he still can't play the boards at all.
