With prospects, you never want to get ahead of yourself, but where will Brown and White fit next year on Ottawa?

I'll have to read it later. But did he mentioned anything about starting your backup (singer) for your home opener?

Maybe, but then you're designating Lazar for the 4th line - and Logan Brown is dismantling the OHL, if he keeps up even near this pace he won't need to be in the OHL next year.

I could see White in the AHL to start next year.

in response to that though, i don't see that many teams that can't turn around and beat us also.

Well, turnaround *is* fair play. So I'll allow it.

So on RW we will have:

- Stone
- Ryan
- White
- Lazar

I think they are hoping Lazar is more than a 4th line winger to replace Neil when he's gone. And as a center he definitely (right now) is behind Pageau.

By the way, Chlapik is also having a good start. Right now Brown (OHL) and Chlapik (QMJHL) are leading their respective leagues in scoring (Chlapik is tied with his team mate but is ahead on goals). And Donaghey (got him from the Leafs in the Phaneuf deal) is just one point back (he's also Chlapik's team mate).

I think after this year you hope lazar can actually center the 4rth line. maybe if he did develop some offence to his game then you have him moving up. the problem(not a problem) is we are going to become deep again at center with right handed shots. so its not that easy to move them to the left unless they've had some success in that spot.

Brown is a lefty so maybe he'll be playing the left side when he makes the jump but i dont know if thats for a few years.

as it stands today we need someone that can play the left wing. you hope dzingel can be that guy next year on the third line as z smith is likely not getting a raise from us to play his position... i could be wrong though.

Yeah, if Lazar ends up the 4C that would be a monumental failure to thrive. They could use him as the focal point in a move to change the CHL/minor pro agreement. Clearly, being in the AHL would have been the best for the player, and it's not like it was a choice between the CHL and AHL. Maybe if a player is 19, has already competed in the WJC and the Memorial Cup tournaments then he's gotten as far as he possibly could in the CHL and should be allowed to go to the AHL.

As for White, since everyone was saying how he's NHL-ready, I wonder if he could actually help given the MacArthur situation. Have you seen any hint of chemistry between Brassard/Ryan and Smith? I know I haven't.

I thought Smith was really good with them vs Toronto. He used his strength to win board battles, went to the net. He was good, but ideally he moves down with Pageau and we have a more legitimate scoring threat there.

Next year he'll likely be gone anyway, so that opens the spot for someone. I wonder if Brassard's ever played wing and/or if he's good at it.

Yeah but he's played wing at the international comps.
He'll likely start on the wing and might even stay there.

Dude, leave brassard where he is. We've been waiting for a left handed center for long enough

Yeah, you're gonna get one. A 6'7, 215 pound kid who hasn't started lifting weights yet apparently because he's still growing and is scoring at a 2.45 PPG pace in Windsor. Comparisons of Jumbo Joe mixed with Getzlaf are bandied around - and while it's unbelievably premature to say something like that, there are people who have watched him since his debut in the OHL who say he should have been a top 5 pick last draft.

Brown won't go back to junior. There will be no point.

White or brown will be LW next to brassard
