He made one fantasticfantastic save, and Hoffman made one fantastic miss. Minny is a really good defensive team.

I love the optimism but when was the last time you were correct?

how about being correct about us being a great team this season?

It's not even my opinion that we will start scoring soon. It's basic fact. It's pretty well impossible for the team not to score more goals soon.

I hope you're right.  I don't agree that the sens have been 'great' this year.  I'd say they've benefited from a very generous schedule and overcome some offensive obstacles.  I would say goaltending and PK have been great.  5-on-5 play is OK and power-play is a big FAIL.  Scoring speaks for itself.

I'd agree. I think that one encouraging bit of info is that Boucher apparently said last week (or thereabout) that the team has focused on defense and PK in practice so far and hasn't really touched the PP or offensive side much yet. If the coaching staff can make a impact on O the way they have on D, this team'll be fine.

This team was top ten in the league in scoring last season. PP wasn't very good. Now the PP is downright awful. But it should take less time to fix the offense because they are better at it to start with.

I'll agree with Ev that the goals will start to come, but calling us a "great team" right now is pretty dumb.

Hockey isn't quite the same in terms of statistics as baseball, but I think you can basically say that Ottawa will start scoring and call it a fact. There's too many 50-60 point guys and in Hoffman's case a an average of 28 goals scored in the last two years, there's just too many signs that say this team is way behind their average statistically. I'm as frustrated as anyone about these bleeding one goal games we're having, but if anything it's better we don't suck at defence and are scoring with aplomb, because if Ottawa fans know anything, it's that it's very difficult to fix defensive issues.

Please, let's not say "score with aplomb". If you got that from a word-a-day dictionary, throw it out (it's close enough to December anyway).

Why, what's wrong with that word? I've used it forever.

Ugh, why am I paying for cable to watch this grinding unexciting hockey?  literally the only reason I'm paying for cable is for the Sens and I'm starting to wonder if it's worth it.

    Desperate times.

I feel you. It's the only reason I'd get cable too. And the season isn't nearly exciting enough to want to pay to get great access.

I really wish there was a way to watch sens game streamed for a monthly flat fee wherever you are. Something like 25-30$ a month would be acceptable. Especially for me since I don't actually live in the region so it's not like I can go see them live.

These YouTube streams are good but you never know if they will give out. I wouldn't mind paying if he money went to the organization directly or indirectly instead of having to pay up for the whole cable experience.
Like if one of the sports channel offered a package.

I'm in the exact same boat.  Im starting to not be able to justify the money to watch this team.
