I want Washington to win for the bracket pool but, I  think Pitt would be a better matchup for the Sens in the Eastern Conference final.

Really? I find that we might stand to beat wash more? We beat them twice this year?
Pitts depends on crosby's health. They are a resilient bunch.

Im just excited to make the conf finals! At any rate it's great experience for the kids!

We only beat the Caps once. Outplayed them two of three, though. Holtby is playing poorly both series so far. Fleury has been great until very recently. Not sure how healthy Murray is but it's been a while.

Tough choice. Would rather play against Malkin than Ovechkin. Would rather not play against Williams. Pittsburgh is not as strong on D. And if Crosby is out, with Letang out already, that would clinch it for me.

Also let's not forget which of these teams is more hungry for a Cup.

Crosby is far from 100% and, IMHO, is playing through a concussion despite what his team doctor and him say. There's no Letang, the lost another D man who's name escapes me and Fleury is a wild card that could go in our favour.

Washington has all the tools, is a stacked lineup, Holtby scares me and they're figuring out how to elevate.

Pittsburgh was outplayed in most games of both series. Fleury has made it look like they are rolling but the truth is they should have been blown out by Columbus. First two games he stopped 70 of 72 shots on goal, that's .972! In the series clincher he stopped 49 of 51. The Penguins were completely and utterly dominated at home.

With Crosby playing hurt and with Daley out (he's the defenseman Clutch must be thinking of) they will get outplayed even more. Fleury.has also had mediocre games (he gave up 9 goals in the two games in Columbus, and hasn't been very good the last two games, sporting a .844). Meanwhile the Penguins managed 40 shots on goal. Total. Over two games.

So, yeah, absolutely, no question I'd prefer to face the Pens. Especially if there are more injuries.

Here is a nice write up one the Pitt defense: http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/penguins/2017/05/07/Mackey-Defense-shakeup-ahead-for-Penguins(copy)-1/stories/201705070194

Sounds like Dumoulin is also playing through something.

Montreal (TSN 690) radio is awesome this morning. And I quote:

The Senators, in beating the Rangers, exposed the Canadiens as a mirage.

This gives me almost as much satisfaction as the win last night.

    That is delicious!

Yeah I guess it makes sense. Might be easier to face a hurt and depleated pitts squad. I'm just afraid Crosby turns it on on us. Same for Malkin.
But wash also has some great players.

In all honesty, do you guys think we win this round? I love our team and I think this is the start of something really good in the future but I don't see us winning this round.

Claesson is very good. Perhaps top 4 good next season.

I think we all know what has to happen to beat the Pens/Caps. We need contributions from Burrows and the rest of the 'bottom six'. Stone and Turris appear to be rounding into form, Hoffman looks very good, Brassard is Brassard, Ryan is playing well, but without Burrows, Smith, Stalberg (who is always injured lol), Pyatt etc. chipping in, we'll be in trouble.

Feels good right now. Karlsson is the King - no questions there.

Karlsson is the King of the North! What. A. Game. Wow. Turris didn't end up with any points, but man did he play great. And dragging his foot to keep the Stone goal onside....brilliant. Bobby R with some giant shot blocks too...amazing. Scoring the first goal...who knew?

I think I'd rather face Washington as they like to collapse in the playoffs and Holtby has been oddly shaky, whereas Fleury has been in old Fleury form. So hard to pick though because both will be incredibly tough. Here's hoping for lots of injuries tonight!

Nah. Leave him with easier minutes.

We can take either of the two teams coming up. Rather player Pittsburgh.
