Not really. They're not going all out trying to impress anyone. They are getting their cardio back.

Oduya really slow. Claesson really didn't have a good might either.
I don't think formenton could make the team but you wonder how long it could be till he does. That's the kind of speed you want to capitalize on early. I guess he has to put some weight on that skinny frame and after this they'll likely be giving him a lot more minutes in London

They talked about Dzingel and his speed and how he needs to finish when he's in alone. Then Formenton got in alone and finished. Is Dzingel Formenton-lite? Like, I wonder if Formenton could be an improvement on Dzingel. Tiny sample size, but it's something to watch.

Agree with Ev on vets. I sure hope Burrows is also not trying to impress.

She I was thinking the same thing as Spader about Fornenton/Dzingel. I was never sold on Dzingel as to six, not enough finish. Fornenton is taller, reads the okay better and is one for one on breakaways.

On the other hand, 12 goals is still 12 goals and having more speed throughout the lineup (Karlsson, Hoffman, Dzingel, Formenton, Pageau, Turris, Chabot, White ...)

Guys, you know I'm one of the biggest supporters of Borocop here. I still think there's a need for him against certain types of teams and when you play the same team repeatedly, but I really hope that Boucher limits his ice time. Claesson and Chabot are better in everything except for big hits, and against faster competition Boro misses a lot more than not.

Warning signs though...we'll see, I hope I'm wrong - and the good news is I'm usually wrong.

Phaneuf has been solid and Ceci has been lights out. Then there's #29 who is always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Like...always.

Hopefully the season doesn't start and 29 is good and Phaneuf and Ceci crash and burn.

But really...how good has Ceci looked? So solid out there.

You're basing way too much on a small sample of preseason games. I didn't see anything that bad from oduya though.

Ask you have other people saying ceci has been terrible. I hate this fan base with a passion. The twitter / hf fanbase I mean. Sens twitter is absolute dumpster trash. Literally zero original thoughts, all think the same way and all complain about the most minor moves like who is going to be a fourth line lw . Man I have to block almost all sens fans on twitter

Hes gonna be 38 in his last year. Theres been starters at that agebut its cutting it real close.
I think Andy has been pretty consistent so you hope he can still perform this way in 3 years.
One thing for sure if he doesnt, thats not a contract you can move. So maybe hog can become the number 1 and Anderson becomes the back up and Condon gets traded if hog snatches on of the two positions. We have depth! Amazing!

The one thing I dont understand is why this couldnt wait till the end of the year. Anderson was going nowhere.

he could have easily went elsewhere. It's not like he lives here.

Meh, he says he wants to retire a Sens.
I think the chance he would have left would have been minimal compared to the chance we notice him decline this year.
I hope we dont but its within the realm of possibilities

Now hes had some spectacular numbers in some season yet no one around the league wants to call Anderson an elite goalie. In fact, they just call him above average.
Now i wonder, if he backstops us to a Stanley cup, do the Sens retire his jersey or something? Hes already surpassed most goalies weve had in most stats and its no debate hes the Sens best goalie in history. Lalime was lucky to be able to play Behind the team we had back then. I cant imagine the damage we could have done had we had Anderson.

Lalime was underrated. He saved the Sens asses a lot.

With Anderson, he has only played 500 games or so, so he has gas in the tank

I disagree. The problem with the Sens back then wasn't goal-tending it was fighting through the clutch and grab and getting pucks in the net in the playoffs. Lalime's GAA was insanely low in the playoffs.
