Nilan shoplifts bathin suit?
This is somewhat bizarre:

$100 is a lot to pay for a bathing suit. He took a lot of hits to the head, he could have pleaded temporary memory loss, say that he forgot to take it off after trying it on.

A shoplifting charge against former NHL player Chris Nilan has been dismissed.Braintree
police say Nilan and another man were arrested Wednesday at a mall
after Lord & Taylor security guards accused Nilan of walking out
with a bathing suit under his clothes.Police say the 51-year-old Nilan denied stealing and scuffled with the guards. The case was dismissed Thursday after Nilan agreed to stay out of the store and paid $100 court costs.

Hilarious pic, looks like the player's about to karate chop the goalie...

But of couse, the player is behind the goalie and off balance.

See-saw match in Philly. Briere wins it in over-time for the Flyers on his birthday.
Caps had a powerplay with a minute to go in the third, which carried over for a minute of OT, but failed to generate much on it.

Neither would I. They are my pick for the top of the East. Washington should cruise to the division title, but Philly is finishing first imo.

If the Caps cruise then they should have more points that the Flyers. While the SE has improved, Washington is still head of the class, there; Philly goes up against the Stanley Cup champs, King Henrik and that goalie who likes his sister-in-law and has more wins than anybody else, ever.

What do you guy's expect from Regin... Should I pick him up in the my yahoo pool. Is he good to get me alot of faceoffs. I havent watched alot of the sens so far this year and im wondering if he would be a good add. Im getting killed in the faceoff department. My centers are Zetterberg, Gagner, Cullen and Sharp! I dont even think Sharp is playing center so that's really hurting me that he's posted as a center. So anyway would Regin be a good add?

Caps lost again. If it wasn't for the extra games played they'd probably be second in their division. And that's with Ovechkin and Backstrom tied for the league lead in points. Yikes.

What are your other choices?
The way I would look at Regin is: he's got 3 points in 4 games but he won't continue at quite that clip. It's likely that if he continues to see full time action centering line 3 and unit 2 of the PP that he gets a point every 2 games - so in the low 40s and will end up with an above 50% face off %. He was up against D.Weight against the Isles and was dominated, while Spezza took the face off rookie in Tavares and scored 60+ % against him.
The hope would be that in future Regin can take back the second line C position and win 55% of his faceoffs, score 15 goals and get 25 assists (or somewhere in there). He's got the talent IMO.

Re: All Hockey talk all the time
So, SD, you're saying that most likely Regin will continue to center the 3rd line and see 2nd unit PP time, and get a point ever second game to get in the low-40s. Yet longer-term, you'd see him centering the *2nd* line and still get that same 40 points. Care to comment which part of the above was off?

All of the line where I said 'in future'. :^^^^: I would expect he can top out at 60 points, but who the heck knows. I meant that IMO he's good for 40 points this year - and I really believe that, and as some of you, have believed that for a while.
15 goals and 45 assists like Asq was saying? Something like that would be the ceiling I would imagine, but if he pans out, that should be fairly reasonable.

Hopefully. I shouldn't have brought the future into this because Regin's a hard guy to project. He has speed, he has creativity with the puck, but he's also injury prone and only has 15 NHL games to his credit.
Soon he'll learn to shoot more and that will create more rebounds, which will create more assists, so yeah, hopefully.

Re: All Hockey talk all the time
He's shown good hands, and should be able to get Fisher/Vermette type of goal production, so 20-25 with an potential upside to 30 if all goes well. And if he's playing center then he should get even more assists, to the tune of around 35-40. So 55-65 points down the road is what I expect from Regin.

Those numbers are padded as much as 4K -- they give away alot of tickets, sell tickets at huge discounts). For certain games they win they give away tickets to all ticket holders, and they've been winning a lot!

If a 5-2 team, leading their division, cannot even sell as many tickets as the Sens did when they were playing at the Civic Center, then there is no hope whatsoever for that franchise in that location. The writing isn't just on the wall, it's a freaking flashing neon sign.
