Apparently a team that wants to win... they moved the anti-winner from their team.

You guys are missing the best part.

Our home opener is against Minnesota.

Like I said a million times before, I'll take Michalek over Heatley every single time.

I'd take Havlat over Michalek though. Grumbling

I guess the difference here is Heatley didn't (publicly) **** over the Sharks.

This guy will bounce around the league for the remainder of his career now, just an absolute cancer and a shell of the player he once was. At least now he doesn't have to worry about the playoffs.

He's going to have to deal with Mike Yeo (another rookie coach).

Can't wait for the ice time reduction and move to 2nd PP unit.

Actually I recently watched his goal reel from the 2005-2006 season (it's on YouTube). Man that guy was awesome for us his first two years. I think his shoulder injury against Detroit in 2007-2008 was the beginning of the end of his effectiveness.

Too bad he's a dbag.

I hope Mike Yeo adds C. Clouston to his staff. At least this one was kept quiet.

According to Dreger:

Heatley has a modified no-trade. Had to submit a list of 10 teams he wouldn't go to before July 1. obviously Minny wasn't on that list.

Diddle....that's awesome!!! Here I was thinking it would take another 2 years to get revenge from the last debacle. And typically, home opener are where fans are a tad more rowdy than usual. Me likey Laugh1

Talbot's contract under review for cap circumvention:

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=370862

The final two years of Talbot's deal are reportedly worth $1 million per year. This would violate cap rules as the final two years of the contract can not be worth less than half of either of the first two years of the deal.

Evidently, the Flyers should have used the signing bonus trick, as Buffalo and New York did in the Ehrhoff and Richards contracts, respectively.

Ha. Ya, this is becoming a joke. Ehrhoff gets paid a combined $18M in his first two seasons and $2M in his last two combined. Talbot gets $4.75M in his first two years combined and $2M in his last two combined, and that's circumvention. Facepalm

I should go off an write a little program with a nice, friendly GUI interface. You enter the terms of the contract and it shows a nice, big Smile or Sad depending on whether you met the rules or not. Maybe add a plugin for comparing player stats to find comparables, then compare salaries and have a few more possible results, like Facepalm or Laughing3 or Leftie .

Too bad I could only sell 30 licenses.

I thought they had done away with signing bonuses except for ELCs. How is Erhoff's contract structure if they can get away with this?

I don't mind the fans booing him any time he steps on the ice. I'm thankful, though, that most of the players and the head coach will have nothing other than winning to think about.
