I expected a drop off since he started so hot, but he has also been banged up a bit

I hope it's just the banged up a bit. Earlier when he wasn't scoring he was looking strong on the ice last couple games you see one or two  times but not as noticeable

Yeah, for sure he's looked off. I also hope it's just him banged up.

What sample size is what we're actually dealing with though?

Yeah, the sample size is small right now. He was good in Belleville last year and hasn't been as good there this year. I think he's a guy that gets better the more he plays, and the problem now is there isn't enough playing time for all our goalies.

I think he's a B goalie. Will not be a star but will probably be as good as Nilsson. If he shows consistency he'll surpass Nilsson on our or depth chart. But the ceiling is higher for D'Accord and Gustavsson though the bust factor for Gustavsson is much higher. Sample size for D'Accord is much smaller but his college and AHL numbers thus far have been good. He doesn't qualify (minutes played) but D'Accord would be 2nd in S% and GAA for rookie goalies - ahead of guys like Primeau and DiPietro - on a team with zero defense. Can't wait to see Wolanin down there to close out the year.

And I suspect once Nilsson is back Andy will be moved so Gus and D'Accord will get lots of minutes.

Stuntman Stu days his leukemia is back. Awful news. I still miss him announcing at the CTC instead of that Monster Truck sounding guy.

Yeah, the poor guy, that sucks hard. He's not my favourite to listen to on the radio, but he was great at the CTC and seems like a good guy in general. Fingers crossed for him.

I tried to come up with a realistic lineup for the Sens next year based on who they have in their system, who is signed next season, and a few UFAs they've retained. I don't see any way this team can be cap compliant next season unless they sign a few UFAs, add salary (next season) at the deadline or draft for picks, or make a trade:

Tkachuk-L.Brown-Duclair
Balcers-Norris-Batherson
Formenton-White-C.Brown
Chlapik-Tierney-Ryan
Extra: Anisimov

Chabot-Zaitsev
Wolanin-Hainsey/De Melo
Boro-Brannstrom
Extra: Reilly

Nilsson
Hogberg

I can see Dorion taking on some salary from another team on a one year.

Would that lineup get us to the cap floor?

If we could stop picking up loser points, that'd be terrific. Hogberg with 50 saves on 53 shots. Giving up 53 shots to New Jersey is not a high point of the season.

Ya that's gotta be a low-light for this season.

I expect a lot of Dung kickings down the stretch as teams are gearing up for the playoffs, while there's no hope for the Sens.

I get that there are tiers of players in the top-10 but the Sens really can't go wrong.

I disagree with this. Not the tiers, but that the Sens can’t go wrong. No matter how well Pinto is developing, he was simply the wrong pick at 32. Same goes for Thomson.

Don’t worry, 2 more 10 game losing streaks are coming.

They were safe pick. Top 5 d-man and top-nine forward most likely. But they weren't homeruns. I can't see the Sens doing anything off the board which means we're likely to get a top-two dman or top-six (arguably top-three) forwards

I am struggling to see what Dorion's plan is if we acquire Zub. Blueline is already quite full and I'd personally like to see a bottom pairing of Boro-Brann next season. Will be really hard to see Boro go, the blueline will be really soft without him, and he seems like the perfect guy to play alongside Brann.

Chabot-Zaitsev
Wolanin-XXXX
Boro-Brann (off-side)
Extra: Reilly

To me the writing is on the wall that Hainsey and De Melo will both be gone, and there likely isn't a chance of Jaros, JBD, or Thomson breaking through next season. So does Zub slide into the top-four with zero NHL experience? He probably won't sign with Ottawa to play in the AHL...
